Singapore, July 7–19, 2025 — Seven outstanding students representing the University of Mataram (UNRAM) showcased exceptional performance at the 2025 ASIAN Undergraduate Symposium (AUS), hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS). This marks the second consecutive year UNRAM has participated in this prestigious event, affirming its commitment to nurturing globally competitive students.
The selected students emerged through a rigorous internal selection process conducted by the Office of International Affairs (OIA) UNRAM. This year’s delegates are:
1. Adib Aliansyah Putra Smith (International Relations)
2. Mahben Subhan Azizun Hakim (Law)
3. Novia Afifah Arsandy (Law)
4. Prily Wiske Widiya Putri (English Education)
5. Aluh Rizki Alia (Law)
6. Nurul Qalbi Zahrani (Informatics Engineering)
7. Fiki Adrian (Development Economics)
The AUS 2025 carried the theme: “Sustainability, Regeneration, Interconnected Communities, Heritage and Culture, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.” Organized annually by NUS College, the two-week program brought together undergraduate students from across Asia to engage in cross-cultural exchange, capacity building, and collaborative innovation.
During the symposium, students actively participated in more than five thematic lectures and panel discussions, covering key issues such as sustainability and regeneration, diversity and inclusion, and heritage and culture. Beyond lectures, the program included learning journeys, cultural night activities, fireside chats with professionals, and intensive project-based mentoring sessions.
Participants were divided into 48 multicultural teams, each tasked with designing innovative, community-focused project proposals. These projects were later presented and evaluated by a review panel. The eight most outstanding projects will receive SGD 5,000 each in seed funding for further development. A UNRAM student was part of a winning team last year, and hopes are high for this year’s delegates as project evaluations are still in progress.
The University of Mataram proudly celebrates the achievements of its student representatives. Their dedication, creativity, and collaborative spirit continue to strengthen UNRAM’s role in international academic and cultural engagement.
