Mataram, 22 July 2025 – The University of Mataram (Unram) continues to show its strong commitment to international collaboration by hosting the World Innovation Network and Intelligence Transformation (WINIT) 2025. Organized in partnership with Seoul National University (SNU), this four-day program, held from 21 to 24 July 2025, aims to encourage joint research and foster the exchange of innovative ideas across countries and academic fields.
The opening ceremony took place on Monday (22/7) at the Rector’s Conference Room. The event was attended by Unram Rector Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., along with the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, the Deans of the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Economics and Business, the Director of the S-Cube Center, and the Head of the Office of International Affairs. Representing SNU were Prof. Junseok Hwang, Jinyoung Kim, and a group of students.
In his remarks, Prof. Bambang warmly welcomed the delegation and highlighted the value of meaningful academic partnerships. “This is a collaboration we truly appreciate. As Rector, I fully support this initiative and hope it brings real impact through knowledge and technology exchange,” he said.
Prof. Junseok Hwang also expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality from Unram, noting the university’s growing potential in the region. “We are excited to be here and work with Unram. We see great potential in Unram to become a key player in fostering long-term innovation and academic partnerships,” he shared.
After the opening, the SNU team was invited to tour Unram’s campus, including a visit to the Faculty of Engineering—one of the main venues for WINIT 2025. The visit introduced Unram’s research facilities and infrastructure, showcasing the university’s readiness for global cooperation.
WINIT 2025 offers more than just academic discussion. It serves as a collaborative space where students and faculty from both institutions can exchange ideas, explore research opportunities, and build lasting professional connections. The program features a range of activities, including public lectures, focused discussions, field visits, and joint presentations tackling real-world challenges in technology and the economy.
Through this initiative, Unram continues to take important steps toward becoming a globally engaged university and a center of innovation from West Nusa Tenggara to the world.
