Mataram, 14 February 2025 – The University of Mataram (UNRAM) is proud to announce its latest collaboration with Murdoch University, Australia, under the prestigious New Colombo Plan (NCP). This long-term study abroad program, set to commence in November 2025, will provide students with a unique academic and cultural immersion experience in Indonesia.
To kickstart this initiative, a virtual coordination meeting between UNRAM and Murdoch University is being held today via Zoom, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss program implementation and collaboration details.
This initiative, themed “Connecting Asia Literacy to Sustainability,” integrates academic coursework with practical field research in Lombok. Participants will engage in a full-semester coursework at UNRAM.
The program will also include a one-month fieldwork research component, allowing students to explore sustainability initiatives in areas such as public health, marine biology, and environmental conservation. Research topics may range from business and intercultural competence to sustainable tourism and fisheries. Students will collaborate with local organizations, including the Department of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of West Nusa Tenggara, the Department of Health, the Department of Tourism, and SMKN 5 Mataram.
Academic supervision will be jointly provided by faculty members from both universities, ensuring a rigorous and well-supported learning experience.
This collaboration marks a significant step in fostering cross-cultural academic exchange and advancing research in sustainability and Asian literacy. By participating in this program, students will gain valuable insights into Indonesia’s dynamic socio-economic landscape while contributing to impactful research initiatives.
