On September 26, 2024, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science at the University of Mataram had the honor of hosting 12 students and one staff member from KOLEJ SULTAN ALAEDDIN SULEIMAN SHAH (KOSASS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), as part of the KOSASS Tour A’Culture 5.0 program. The visit was warmly welcomed by Dr. Rahadi Wirawan, S.Si., M.Si., Dean of the Faculty, along with several lecturers, including those who are alumni of UPM, heads of study programs, and student representatives.

In his welcome remarks, Dr. Rahadi Wirawan highlighted the ongoing academic collaborations between the two institutions, recalling that the University of Mataram had sent students to UPM in 2019. He expressed his hope that similar exchange programs would resume in the near future, strengthening the educational ties between the two universities.

On behalf of KOSASS, Mr. Ahmad Alfan Hidayat extended his gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized the importance of fostering such international connections. As a part of this visit, the two institutions agreed to sign an Implementation Agreement, marking another step toward deeper collaboration in research, student exchange, and academic development.

The event also featured mutual presentations, where both institutions introduced their respective universities, providing insights into academic life, research opportunities, and student activities. Following the formalities, the UPM delegation took a guided tour of the Islamic Center, the University of Mataram campus, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science.

Through this event, the University of Mataram hopes to build a stronger connection with UPM, enabling more student exchange opportunities and further collaboration that will benefit students from both universities. The visit marked a successful step toward fostering cross-cultural and academic ties in the spirit of mutual growth and cooperation.
