Mataram, 8th December 2025– The University of Mataram (UNRAM), through its Office of International Affairs (OIA), continues to strengthen its commitment to internationalization as part of its efforts toward achieving international accreditation. One of the strategic initiatives undertaken is encouraging student participation in international mobility programmes, including the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Programme funded by the European Union.
In this regard, OIA UNRAM organized a Sharing Session on the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Programme, held at the Prof. Morisco Hall, Faculty of Engineering, UNRAM, on Monday, 8 December 2025. The session was attended by UNRAM students from various faculties and aimed to broaden their understanding of international study and exchange opportunities.
The session featured Dimas Arif Prasetyo, National Representative of the OCEANS Network, European Union, who shared comprehensive insights on fully funded study and student exchange opportunities at partner universities across Europe under the Erasmus+ programme. The presentation covered key aspects of the programme, including the application process, the credit transfer system, and the academic as well as personal benefits of participating in international student mobility.
The event was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems of the University of Mataram. In the opening remarks, it was highlighted that international student exchange and internship programmes play a significant role in supporting the university’s international accreditation targets. Erasmus+ was emphasized as a strategic opportunity, as it provides fully funded mobility for students to study at partner universities in Europe.
Through this sharing session, UNRAM expects to increase student interest and participation in international exchange and internship programmes. Student mobility is not only beneficial for academic enrichment and personal development, but also serves as an important indicator in international accreditation assessments.
OIA UNRAM explained that the activity was primarily aimed at mid- to final-year undergraduate students. The objective was to provide early exposure and comprehensive information on opportunities to pursue studies abroad through Erasmus+ funding, allowing students to better prepare themselves academically and administratively.
During the session, participants were also informed about general application requirements, including English language proficiency, academic documents, a curriculum vitae, a motivation letter, and a learning agreement that aligns courses taken at UNRAM with those offered by the host institutions. Credits earned during the mobility period can be transferred to UNRAM, ensuring that participation in the programme does not extend students’ study period.
By participating in the Erasmus+ programme, students are expected to gain valuable international academic experience as well as essential soft skills, such as independence, cross-cultural adaptability, time management, and financial management. The event concluded with an interactive discussion session between participants and the speaker.
OIA UNRAM remains committed to facilitating and supporting students in accessing international mobility opportunities as part of the university’s vision to enhance its global competitiveness.
