Mataram, December 2025 – The University of Mataram (UNRAM), through the English Education Department of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), continues to strengthen its international research and teaching collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Pahang, Malaysia. Following UiTM’s academic visit to UNRAM last August, the partnership further progressed with the implementation of an online Collaborative Teaching session titled “Mediating Texts: Making Inferences & Drawing Conclusions” on 5 December 2025 via Google Meet.
The event featured Dr. Dewi Satria Elmiana, lecturer of the English Education Study Program and Vice Head of the Office of International Affairs, University of Mataram, as the keynote speaker, with Mdm Azlini Razali, English Lecturer at UiTM Cawangan Pahang, serving as moderator. This session forms part of the ongoing joint research and teaching initiatives between the two institutions.
In her presentation, Dr. Dewi discussed effective strategies for developing students’ skills in making inferences and drawing conclusions from texts—an essential competency in English language learning. Participants, consisting of students, lecturers, and educators from both universities, engaged actively through interactive discussions and text-based case activities.
The program also involved members of the UiTM Collaborative Teaching Team, including:
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamisah Ariffin
• Dr. Nadhratunnaim Abas
• Azlini Razali
• Suzaini Harmiruslin Supian
• Fatin Sabrina Abdul Sukor
• Intan Fitri Aisyah Hamzah
This activity serves as a continuation of the Academic Collaboration Series 2025, previously held on 19–21 August 2025 at UNRAM under the theme “Empowering Educators through Digital Transformation.” During the visit, both institutions signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), conducted discussions on teaching and research collaboration, and participated in a campus tour—laying a strong foundation for future partnerships in teaching, research, and joint publications.
Through this ongoing collaboration, UNRAM and UiTM reaffirm their commitment to fostering a dynamic and globally connected academic environment, while expanding international networks to enhance the quality of education and research.
