Mataram – The S-CUBE Center, in partnership with Universitas Nasional (UNAS) and Seoul National University Social Responsibility (SNU-SR), held a very successful training program at the University of Mataram from July 20th to July 27th, 2024. Through a series of in-depth lectures, this program aims to improve sustainability in the business, technology, and educational sectors.

The five main modules of the training curriculum were Digital Business, EPS TOPIK, Korean for Business, Korean for Tourism, and Basic Korean. These workshops were attended by 120 carefully chosen learners by S-CUBE Center. Every course was carefully chosen to meet the individual needs of the students and provide them with useful information and abilities. The application for this training program not only open for UNRAM students but also open for public to enter, with age ranging from 16 – 35 years old.

A highlight of the training program was the cultural ceremony on July 24th, which commemorated the successful completion of the lessons. The event, which drew 250 visitors including Prof. Munseo Park from SNU-SR, faculty members from UNAS, UNRAM Vice Rector, deans from Informatic Engineering and other head of departments from the University of Mataram. The event was a lively celebration of cultural interchange. The celebration featured both traditional Korean acts, such as the mesmerizing fan dance, and modern Korean dances. Members of the KKN International team from the University of Mataram also performed for the audience, providing a spectacular exhibition of Indonesian culture.

This cultural exchange not only showcased both countries’ rich heritages, but also highlighted the need of mutual respect and understanding in promoting international collaboration. The excellent execution of this event demonstrated all participating universities’ dedication to cultivating global ties and advancing educational and cultural integration.

On Thursday July 25th, the program featured two substantial social projects. The first was a community activity, a collaborative effort involving Seoul National University (SNU), the University of Mataram (UNRAM), the National University of Jakarta (UNAS), and SD 1 Batulayar Barat. This project engaged all members in teaching students at SD 1 Batulayar Barat, with classes divided into Art, Music, and Physical Education.

Following the community activity, the program continued with the second project, a plogging event at Melase Batulayar Beach. This initiative focused on environmental conservation, combining physical activity with beach cleanup activity.

Looking ahead, the success of this project is expected to inspire further collaborative projects that cross cultures and industries, resulting in a more linked and sustainable global community. The S-CUBE Centre, SNU-SR, and UNAS remain committed to advancing social responsibility and cultivating international goodwill via ongoing collaboration and innovation. (SCUBE Team)
