Mataram, April 9, 2025 — The Office of International Affairs (OIA) at the University of Mataram (UNRAM) had the honor of welcoming delegates from the Australian Consulate General in Bali for a joint lecture and scholarship information session. This visit marks their second time engaging with the UNRAM academic community, further strengthening the ties between the two institutions.
The delegates, Ms. Joe Stevens and Ms. Amelia Ekkel, were warmly welcomed by Professor Akmaluddin, Vice Rector for Planning, Collaboration, and Information Systems, along with Professor Bambang Hari Kusumo, who extended his gratitude for their continued collaboration during his welcoming remarks.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Joe Stevens also expressed her appreciation to UNRAM for the invitation and the opportunity to engage directly with students and lecturers. The event successfully attracted more than 100 participants, consisting of students and faculty members eager to gain insights about Australia and potential study opportunities.
Ms. Joe Stevens delivered a presentation titled “Australia in Brief and Relations with Indonesia”, providing an overview of Australia’s national profile and its longstanding partnership with Indonesia. Following her, Ms. Amelia Ekkel introduced the Australia Awards Scholarship Program, offering valuable information on application procedures and the benefits of studying in Australia under the prestigious scholarship scheme.
Prior to the joint lecture, the delegates also visited the #AussieBanget Corner — the Australian Corner located in UNRAM’s Library — where they were accompanied by the Head of the Office of International Affairs, Professor Dahlanuddin.
The visit not only highlighted the strong educational and cultural ties between Australia and Indonesia but also provided an excellent platform for UNRAM students to explore international scholarship opportunities and expand their global perspectives.
