Mataram, March 21, 2025 – The University of Mataram (UNRAM) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saint Louis College of San Fernando City, La Union, Philippines, in a virtual ceremony held via Zoom. This agreement marks a significant milestone in fostering international academic partnerships between the two institutions.
The online MoU signing was attended by distinguished representatives from both universities. From Saint Louis College, the event was graced by Dr. Lea L. De Guzman, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Ms. Viviene Aisha Gugol-Baker, Head of the College Information and Marketing Office; and Dr. Leo Esteene L. Galap, Global Affairs Officer. Meanwhile, UNRAM was represented by Professor Bambang Hari Kusumo, Rector of UNRAM; Professor Akmaluddin, Vice Rector for Planning, Collaboration, and Information Systems; Professor Sitti Hilayana, Vice Rector for Academics; Deans of various faculties; Dr. Dewi Satria Elmiana, Vice Head of the Office of International Affairs (OIA); and the coordinator of OIA.
In his remarks, the Rector of UNRAM, Professor Bambang Hari Kusumo, emphasized the university’s long-standing commitment to international collaboration. He highlighted the fruitful partnerships that UNRAM has established with various universities in the Philippines, including Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), Tarlac Agricultural University, and the University of the Philippines, among others.
“As we continue to expand our global engagement, we recognize the importance of building new collaborations with prestigious and prospective universities in the Philippines. This partnership with Saint Louis College will open up valuable opportunities for joint research, faculty and student exchanges, and academic programs that align with our shared goals,” said Professor Bambang.
The establishment of this MoU was initiated by Dr. Dewi Satria Elmiana, following discussions during the Global Internationalization Training and Workshop at ITS Surabaya. Her proactive efforts and dedication played a crucial role in bringing this collaboration to fruition.
“This MoU represents not just a formal agreement but a commitment to academic excellence, cultural exchange, and innovation. I am confident that this partnership will bring great benefits to our students, faculty, and researchers, paving the way for future breakthroughs and stronger connections between our institutions,” Professor Bambang added.
Dr. Leo Esteene L. Galap also expressed his gratitude to the University of Mataram for accepting the collaboration proposal from Saint Louis College.
