MATARAM – On Thursday, May 30th, 2024, Office of International Affairs University of Mataram held a workshop on the International Credit Transfer Program with the theme “Licensing and Management of Foreign Students and Developing Country Partnership Scholarship or KNB” in the dr. Yunita Sabrina Hall, Faculty of Medicine and Health Science (FKIK) Unram.
The workshop featured esteemed speakers from DIKTI, including Putri Nailatul Himma, Head of the DIKTI Institutional Strengthening Working Group Team; AA Sodikin, DIKTI Institutional Strengthening Working Group Staff; Mochammad Kahfi; and Reni Anggraeni.
Prof. Dr. Sitti Hilyana, M.Si., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs on her opening remarks mentioned that Unram currently offers international classes in 16 study programs. She mentioned the importance of utilizing the workshop to address challenges in managing international programs. “Since we are still new to organizing this kind of program, there are crucial steps we need to take, especially in obtaining ministry permissions and understanding university requirements, please take full advantage of this opportunity, as it is not easy to bring in such esteemed speakers”
For the 2024/2025 academic year, Unram will offer scholarships to 16 students from Palestine and provide 50% partial scholarships to several students from Myanmar, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and other countries.
The keynote speaker from DIKTI, AA Sodikin noted the significant rise in the number of international students at Unram. “Unram has seen a rapid increase in foreign students from 2022-2024. In total, Unram have 145 international students enrolled in various programs such as bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, BIPA, and short courses. Unram has excelled in licensing and reporting to DIKTI, with no issues so far,” he said.
This workshop marks an important milestone for Unram in its quest to enhance its capacity as a world-class university and attract more international students.
