KUALA TERENGGANU, Malaysia — August 10, 2026 — A delegation of 17 students accompanied by one lecturer from University of Mataram (UNRAM) participated in the Joint Class – Jejak Budaya 2026 (Inbound Mobility Program), organized by the Pusat Pendidikan Asas dan Lanjutan (PPAL), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), in collaboration with Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) and University of Mataram (UNRAM). Held from 4 to 10 August 2026, the program brought together undergraduate students from UMT, UNAIR, and UNRAM for an enriching academic and cultural exchange experience.
Throughout the program, participating students engaged in a variety of learning activities and cultural experiences around the UMT campus and Kuala Terengganu. The 17 UNRAM students had the opportunity to explore Terengganu’s culture, heritage, culinary traditions, community life, and local identity while experiencing a different academic and social environment.
Beyond classroom learning, the program served as a platform for students from Malaysia and Indonesia to share their perspectives, experiences, and cultural backgrounds. Through interactive activities and informal learning experiences, participants developed a deeper appreciation of the similarities and diversity between Malaysian and Indonesian cultures.
The participation of UNRAM’s student delegation reflects the university’s continued commitment to promoting international student mobility, intercultural learning, and global engagement. Accompanied by a UNRAM lecturer, the students were able to engage directly with peers from UMT and UNAIR, build international networks, and develop cross-cultural competencies in an increasingly interconnected academic environment.
The successful implementation of Joint Class – Jejak Budaya 2026 was made possible through the commitment and collaboration of lecturers, the organizing committee, PPAL Buddies, and the wider UMT community, as well as the participating students and partner institutions.
University of Mataram extends its appreciation to Universiti Malaysia Terengganu and Universitas Airlangga for their collaboration in making this international mobility program possible. It is hoped that Joint Class – Jejak Budaya 2026 will further strengthen academic connections, friendship, and cultural exchange among UMT, UNAIR, and UNRAM, while opening opportunities for broader international collaboration in the future.
